Matthew Kuzio has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Matthew currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and Director of People Services at Red Aspen, a growth start-up within the social selling beauty space. Prior to this, Matthew was the Chief Operating Officer at Summit Solutions for seven years.
Matthew has also worked as a Principal Clean Energy and Financial Sector Consultant, where they provided continuous consultation for multinational institutions and social enterprises. In this role, they managed a $900,000 Asian Development Bank grant to develop a comprehensive business ecosystem around the China Beijing Environmental Exchange and promote carbon reduction activities. Matthew also negotiated a $400,000 Technical Assistance Grant with the Harbin Municipal Government to review fiscal structures and develop innovative financing mechanisms for infrastructure development in the city.
Matthew's experience also includes serving as the Director of the Eco-Products Unit at XacBank, where they launched and managed the department, facilitating producer and consumer lending, connecting the program to carbon markets, and overseeing staff.
Matthew began their career as an 8th Grade ELA Teacher at Middle School 328 in the Bronx through the Teach for America program. Matthew developed and implemented engaging literacy instruction for a diverse group of 60 eighth-grade students.
Matthew also has experience in investment banking, having worked as a Summer Analyst at Lehman Brothers. Matthew conducted financial analysis, created buyout models, and performed valuations.
Additionally, they worked as a Summer Research Associate in the Office of Workforce and Economic Development for the Mayor of San Francisco. In this role, they conducted research on the impact of city programs on business entry and exit in an economically disadvantaged area and represented the Mayor's Office at community district meetings.
Matthew Kuzio obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Occidental College, where they studied from 2002 to 2007. In 2014, they completed a 3-month immersive program called Dev Bootcamp that focused on teaching the fundamentals of full-stack web development. In 2020, Matthew enrolled at Boise State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Accountancy with a focus on Taxation. Matthew also holds a certification in Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach, which they obtained from Coursera Course Certificates in November 2016.
