Eduardo Prieto has a diverse range of work experience in the energy sector. Eduardo is currently the Director of Services for System Operation at Red Eléctrica, where they oversee the management and coordination of the activities for the operation of the Canary Islands power system. Eduardo is also responsible for assessing the criteria, tools, and methodologies used for system operation. Prior to this role, they were the Head of Power System Reliability Department at Red Eléctrica, where they identified and proposed new technologies to improve power system reliability and operating conditions. Eduardo also held several other positions at Red Eléctrica, including Head of Network Studies Department and Head of the technical office in the Control Centre department. Additionally, Eduardo Prieto served as a Member of the Board of ENTSO-E and as a Spanish regular member of CIGRE. Eduardo also worked as a teacher at Escuela de Organización Industrial and as an engineer at UNION FENOSA DISTRIBUCION SOCIEDAD ANONIMA and Iberdrola Engineering and Construction.
Eduardo Prieto holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, which they completed from 1993 to 1999. In 2010-2011, they pursued a Professional Development Diploma (PDD) in Management at the Escuela de Organización Industrial. Eduardo also completed a PDD at IESE Business School in 2015.
