Dimitris S.

Dimitris S. has a wealth of experience in the field of engineering and research. In 2021, they began working as an Engineer at Redpanda Data. From 2016 to 2021, Dimitris worked as a Research Staff Member at IBM Research - Almaden Research Center. During this time, they co-authored 12 papers and 6 patents, and their research led to the creation of IBM Spectrum Scale Container Native Storage. From 2014 to 2016, Dimitris worked as a Member of Technical Staff at VMware. From 2013 to 2014, they were an Intern at VMware, where they worked on automated scaling for multi-tier applications in a cloud stack. Prior to this, Dimitris was a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Santa Cruz from 2008 to 2013. Additionally, they co-founded IBM's Student Workshop on Systems and Cloud in 2019.

Dimitris S. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2014. Prior to that, they obtained an MMath in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews in 2008. In March 2019, they also obtained a certification in Organizational Analysis from Coursera.
