Nicola Ferraro

Nicola Ferraro has been in the software engineering industry since 2009. From 2009 to 2016, they worked at Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Spa as a Solution Architect and Team Leader, working on the development of a MDM (Meter Data Management) system based on Big Data technologies (Apache Spark, Apache HBase) for Enel/Endesa (Spain). Nicola was also responsible for delivering advanced training on key big data technologies to the whole organization. During this time, they were also a Software Developer and Team Leader, writing software on Java EE technologies for several customers of the Italian central public administration. Additionally, they were a member of the European Commission for developing protocols for exchanging VISA related information among Schengen states. From 2016 to 2022, Nicola worked at Red Hat as a Principal Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer. Currently, they are working at Redpanda Data as a Software Engineer, making red pandas fly in the cloud.

Nicola Ferraro obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering from Università della Calabria between 2003 and 2006. Nicola then obtained a Master's degree in Computer Software Engineering from the same institution between 2006 and 2008. In 2008, they completed a Master's Course in Machine Intelligence at Aalborg University. Additionally, Nicola has obtained several certifications from Amazon and Oracle, including AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (2022), Oracle Certified Master, Java EE 6 Enterprise Architect (2016), Oracle Certified Expert, Java EE 6 Java Persistence API Developer (2014), Oracle Certified Expert, Java EE 6 Web Services Developer (2014), Oracle Certified Expert, Java EE 6 Enterprise JavaBeans Developer (2012), and Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform, SE 6 (2010).
