Tim Etchells has worked in the engineering field for over 25 years. tim began their career in 1994 as an Electrical Engineer with Minebea Electronics UK Ltd. (NMB). Two years later, they moved to Zetron as a Project Engineer. In 2000, they joined Philips Medical Systems as a Design Engineer, where they were responsible for designing high voltage, low noise, and PWM converters to motion control circuits. In 2007, they joined Mirabilis Medica, Inc. as a Lead Electrical Engineer and Project Engineer. In 2012, they co-founded ReelSonar, Inc., where they worked on the production devices and obtained initial patents. In 2020, they joined Sensoriis as the Director of Engineering, and in 2013 they became the Principal of Unthinkable Solutions.

Tim Etchells obtained a Master's Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from The University of Edinburgh between 1991 and 1996.
