Hardin Lang has extensive work experience in the field of humanitarian and international affairs. Starting in 1995, they worked with the United Nations in various roles, including Mission Manager for the United Nations Stabilization Mission in Mali and Haiti, and Senior Advisor for the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq. Hardin also served as the Head of Office for UN Special Envoy William Clinton for the Haiti Earthquake. In 2011, Lang joined the Center for Strategic and International Studies as a Senior Fellow, and later moved to the Center for American Progress as a Senior Fellow for the Foreign Policy and National Security Program. Since 2018, Lang has been Vice President for Programs and Policy at Refugees International, where they lead a team focusing on humanitarian and displacement crises worldwide. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in strategic and policy guidance, field operations, coordination with governments and international organizations, and managing budgets and staff recruitment.
Hardin Lang has an education history that includes an MPA from Princeton University, with a focus on the Woodrow Wilson School. Hardin also holds an MSc in International History from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Prior to these degrees, Hardin Lang earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Economics from Oberlin College.
