Jay (Jaliya) Guna Gunawardane has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Jay (Jaliya) is currently serving as the Director of Business Development at Regal Medical Group since April 2021. Prior to this, they were the Vice President of Strategic Development at Companion Health Group from August 2019 to January 2021. Jay also worked as the Director of Network Development at Regal Medical Group from March 2018 to August 2019.

Before joining Regal Medical Group, Jay worked as a healthcare consultant as a freelancer from March 2015 to March 2018. In this role, they focused on business development in the healthcare industry and successfully implemented marketing strategies for leading managed care industry pioneers.

Jay's earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Business Development at DaVita Healthcare Partners Medical Group from February 2012 to February 2015. During this time, they collaborated with senior leadership, managed contracting and business development representatives, and evaluated acquisition targets.

From May 2004 to February 2012, Jay held the position of Director of Business Development at Regal Medical Group, where they were responsible for provider contracting and membership growth in multiple counties. Jay (Jaliya) played a crucial role in implementing strategies that led to a 100% increase in lives.

Jay also has experience as an Instructor at Citrus Community College from 1997 to 2008. Jay (Jaliya) was one of the co-founders of Sana Care Medical Group (IPA), where they served as the Director of Business Development from 1997 to 2004. Additionally, Jay was a founder and principal partner at Medical Practice Specialists, a healthcare management consulting firm from 1992 to 2004.

Furthermore, Jay worked as the Director of Business Development at Glendora Community Hospital (now known as East Valley Medical Center) from 1994 to 1997.

Jay Guna completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from UC Irvine, where they attended from 1984 to 1989. Following this, from 1989 to 1992, they pursued a Masters degree in Healthcare Management at the University of La Verne.
