Roger C Becerra has had a diverse and extensive work experience in various companies. Roger C started their career as a Research Scientist at Instituto del Mar Peruano (IMARPE) from 1979 to 1982. Roger C then worked as an Electronics Engineer at General Electric - Industrial Systems from 1989 to 1999, where they developed ECM technology for the USA Air Moving Industry. From 2000 to 2005, they worked at General Electric as a Technology Leader, focusing on variable speed technology and developing algorithms to improve system performance.

Becerra then joined Regal Beloit in 2007 and held multiple roles, including Enabling Technology Leader, Chief Engineer, and Technology Director. In these roles, they identified and developed new technologies for energy-efficient variable speed electric motors. Roger C also managed a R&D organization for the development of new technologies in electromagnetics, power electronics, and control algorithms for energy-efficient consumer products.

Throughout their career, Becerra has demonstrated expertise in the development and implementation of advanced technologies for energy efficiency and system performance. In 2017, they retired, and since then, they have been operating their own consulting business called Becerra Consulting.

Roger C Becerra completed their education with a BSEE in Electronics from Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria in 1978. Roger C then pursued an MSEE in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Texas A&M University, which they completed in 1986. In 1987, they obtained a degree in MSEE with a specialization in Electric Machines and Control from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Finally, they earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1989.
