David R. has worked in the software engineering field since 2011. Theirfirst role was as an iOS App Developer at The Ronnie K. Irani Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth (I-CCEW). David then moved on to work as a Web App Developer at NewSpin360.com and a Student Programmer at the K20 Center (University of Oklahoma). In 2013, they took on a Frontend Web Development Intern role at NextThought, LLC. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Senior Software Developer at New Spin 360, LLC. Most recently, they have been a Senior Software Engineer at Regard since 2022. During their time at Exaptive, Inc., they wrote automatically tested code, designed and implemented a form generation system, implemented a large breaking change in an active client-facing visualization model, advocated for and transitioned the company's largest application to React.js, created the frontend of a multi-model graph-based innovation management application, developed an array of features for a visual dataflow programming environment, implemented and maintained interactive and combinatorial web visualizations, and interacted directly with consulting client Cohen Veterans Bioscience.

David R. attended Jenks High School prior to 2009. From 2009 to 2015, they attended the University of Oklahoma, where they earned a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science. Prior to 2009, they also attended Tulsa Tech, where they earned Cisco Certified Network Associate and Professional certifications.
