Zina M. Johnson

Zina M. Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Zina M.'smost recent role is as the Senior Medical Director in the Medical Affairs department at REGENXBIO Inc. Zina M. previously held the position of Medical Director, focusing on Ophthalmology within the same company. Prior to joining REGENXBIO Inc., Zina served as the Director of Global Medical Affairs Training and Development at Alcon. Zina M. has also worked at ThromboGenics, where they held the titles of Associate Director and Manager in the Medical Science department. Zina's experience also includes being a Medical Science Liaison at Shire HGT and Inspire Pharmaceuticals. Earlier in their career, they served as a Scientific Liaison at CellzDirect Inc./Invitrogen Corp. and as a Research Technician/Laboratory Manager at UIC Dept of Biophysics and Physiology. Zina's career started in the US Air Force where they served as the Clinical Hyperbarics Manager in Aerospace Physiology.

Zina M. Johnson earned a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. Zina M. then pursued the Launch the Venture Program at the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School from 2007 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois Chicago, completing their studies from 1998 to 2001.
