David Desharnais

David Desharnais has a diverse work experience starting in 2010 as a member of the Technology Advisory Board at Arm. From 2012 to 2015, they held various roles at Traxpay, a European-based FinTech company, including EVP & Chief Marketing Officer and SVP & Chief Product Officer. In 2015, David joined American Express as SVP and GM of Digital and Commercial Platforms in the Global Commercial Payments division. David led the creation and deployment of the company's first B2B FinTech platform, generating significant revenue. David served as Chairman of the Board at GroundSwell SPC, a mission-driven FinTech company, from 2017 to 2020. From 2017 to 2018, they were a Board Director at Point A, focusing on digital innovation and cloud technology. Starting in 2017, David also held the role of CMO & Global GM at Amazon Web Services (AWS), leading the AWS industry verticals business worldwide. David joined IDEMIA in 2019 as EVP, Global Chief Digital & Product Officer, responsible for various global teams. In 2021, David became a Board Director at Intterra, a company transforming firefighting. Currently, they are the President & Chief Operating Officer at Rekor, a trusted global authority on intelligent infrastructure.

David Desharnais has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business, with a focus on Strategy, Finance, and Marketing. David also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSEE and Technology) degree from a university in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, majoring in Electrical Engineering, Data Communications, Embedded Systems, and Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, David has obtained several certifications from Amazon Web Services, including AWS Certified Database - Specialty, AWS Certified Machine Learning - Specialty, and AWS Cloud Practioner.
