Sheyla Alvarez, EIT, is a Firmware Developer at Reliable Controls since May 2020, progressing from Level I to Level II, after interning at the same company in 2019 where responsibilities included developing C++ code using the BACnet standard. Prior to this, Sheyla worked as a Math and Science Tutor at The University of British Columbia, assisting students with Computer Science, Calculus, Physics, and Engineering courses. Additional experience includes roles as a Research Assistant in the UBC Okanagan Microfluidics Laboratory, focusing on developing Graphical User Interfaces for automated detection systems, and work at Yacare Technology, where contributions included testing RF ID technology and creating 3D models using SolidWorks. Academic credentials include a Minor in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from The University of British Columbia, completed in 2020.
