Kathryn Nance

Kathryn Nance serves as the Chief of the Reno Police Department since February 2023, following a tenure as Deputy Chief of Police with the City of Stockton Police Department from November 2020 to March 2023. Nance has extensive experience with the City of Stockton, holding the position of Police Lieutenant from December 1996 to November 2020, where responsibilities included overseeing various task forces and critical investigations. In addition to law enforcement roles, Nance was President of the Stockton Police Officers Association from September 2012 to November 2016 and ran as a candidate for California's 9th Congressional District in 2015. Nance's educational background includes leadership training with the American Leadership Forum and the Sherman Block Leadership Supervisory Institute, and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Police Science from Humphreys University.
