Robin Sutherland

VP, HR & Clinical Operations at Renovia

Robin Sutherland is Renovia’s Vice President of Human Resources and Clinical Operations, with twenty-five years of executive experience in healthcare, clinical research, financial services, human resources and the life sciences industry. In leading clinical operations, Sutherland brings experience with over 40 clinical studies, from protocol development through clinical study reports.

Prior to joining Renovia, Sutherland led Applied Research and served as an HR Consultant for Flex Pharma and previously was Head of Talent and HRIS with Ironwood Pharmaceuticals. She also was co-founder and COO of EPOCH, a pioneer in executive project and interim management, and simultaneously supported Quanticate, a UK-based global CRO as Head of U.S. Operations where she was responsible for all aspects of business expansion across the U.S. and Canada. Earlier in her career, Sutherland was Vice President of Recruitment & Service Delivery with Fidelity Investments’ Veritude where she designed and implemented customized HR services and managed a global P&L for Veritude clients across multiple industries. A therapist by training, Sutherland moved into management early in her career, leading a therapy department at Lahey Clinic, leading rehabilitation services and marketing for a spine rehabilitation center and was Executive Director of comprehensive rehabilitation centers and physician practices for AdvantageHEALTH/HealthSouth. Sutherland has edited specialty rehabilitation journals, authored textbook chapters and has published research in SPINE.

When not at Renovia, Sutherland supports Bridgewell as Board Chair of this $76 million nonprofit dedicated to supporting and helping over 6600 individuals with intellectual, developmental and psychiatric disabilities, and other life challenges. A graduate of Tufts University, Sutherland is completing a Master’s in Human Resources from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and has completed additional studies in the Master of Health Administration program at Simmons College.
