Tyson Malik

Tyson Malik has extensive work experience in the field of digital infrastructure and DevOps engineering. Their most recent position was as the Sr. Director of Digital Infrastructure & DevOps Engineering at Upbound Group, starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Rent-A-Center, where they held various roles, including Sr. Director of Digital Infrastructure & DevOps Engineering, Director of DevOps/Cloud & AIOps, and Sr. Manager of DevOps/Cloud, Release & Middleware Engineering. Tyson led multiple IT teams and focused on areas such as security, automation, infrastructure as code, site reliability, and cost optimization. Before joining Rent-A-Center, Tyson worked at Nokia as a Senior Release Engineer, where they automated software build systems and managed source control for mobile email applications. Tyson also worked as a Software Test Engineer, ensuring software quality, and as a Field Test Engineer, verifying functionality for new software releases of mobile phones. Prior to Nokia, Tyson worked at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise as an HW/SW Diagnostic Test Engineer, designing and maintaining automated functional tests for optical-to-electrical converters.

Tyson Malik obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Kansas, where they studied from 1997 to 2000.
