Ashley Couch began their career in 2015 as a Special Education Teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools. During their time there, they worked with businesses in the community to organize job partnerships for students, resulting in 70% of students with disabilities participating in a job program upon school completion. Ashley also built their leadership resume and honed their skills by participating in various trainings and taking initiative in new roles. Ashley developed relationships with 20+ new staff members, and assisted 5+ new staff memebers in their career development. Ashley offered strong communication skills, keeping a repore with staff and team members throughout the building to increase productivity and ensure effective methodologies for all students. Ashley also spearhead digitial transformation by sourcing, vetting, and purchasing instructional resources and software. Ashley designed hybrid interactive learning experiences that were described as highly engaging by district staff and students. Ashley used holistic and individual data to modify and adapt instruction resulting in higher student proficency - 20% of classroom students improved in functional math skills during the 21-22 school year and 30% of classroom students improved in functional reading skills during the 21-22 school year. Ashley successfully engaged students from ages 14-21 with varying disabilities, reading abilities, english fluency, and access to technology on a daily basis. Ashley also collected, maintained, analyzed, and shared data across settings and platforms, and leveraged previously under used data to create highly effective instruction for students of varying abilities. In 2022, Ashley joined CollegePads.com as an Account Manager.
Ashley Couch completed their Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at the University of Louisville from 2011 to 2015. Ashley then went on to earn their Master's degree in Teacher Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands between 2016 and 2017. In July 2022, Ashley Couch obtained their K-12 Moderate & Severe Disabilities Teaching Certification, K-5 Teaching Certification, and Leadership Certification from the Kentucky Board of Education.
