Alex Parker has a diverse work experience in the technology field. From 2014 to 2021, they held various roles at IBM, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Replicated. In 2014, they were an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, assisting associate and research professors with Computer Organization classes. Alex created and graded homework assignments, quizzes, and exams, and held office hours to assist students. In 2015, they were a Software Engineer at IBM, delivering a feature to upload, parse, and save script files from a RESTful web application and remotely execute those scripts on a z/OS mainframe. Alex also wrote a command line interface in C for interacting with the RESTful application. In 2016, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, assisting a distinguished professor with Algorithms and Analysis class. Alex held office hours to assist students with comprehension of algorithms, determination of computational complexity, and derivation of efficient algorithms. Alex also graded homework assignments and exams. At IBM, they held various roles from 2016 to 2021, including Senior Product Manager and Product Manager. In 2021, they joined Replicated as a Senior Product Manager. Replicated is a modern way to ship multi-prem software, providing software vendors with the tooling needed to deliver and manage cloud native applications inside customers' environments. During their time at IBM, they received two Manager's Choice Awards in 2016 and 2018.
Alex Parker received their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015. Alex then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Computer Science from the same university, which they completed in 2016.
