Matt Wakefield has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Matt began their career at Mediaplanet in 2010 as a Project Manager, where they were responsible for planning and executing specialist reports in major newspapers. Matt then joined Dennis Publishing as a MagBook Global Account Manager and later became a Senior MagBook Account Manager. In these roles, they focused on growing and developing the MagBook brand.

Matt moved on to Clear Channel Outdoor in 2012, where they served as a Senior Agency Manager, managing national accounts such as McDonald's, Channel 4, and Disney. Matt then joined LUXIA Global in 2015 as the Director of Sales - The Americas and UK, where they were responsible for commercial revenues through various advertising platforms.

In 2017, Matt founded Instay Media, and most recently, in 2020, they founded Repped, a B2B sales platform. Through Repped, they aimed to empower B2B buyers to initiate sales conversations more easily in the changing hybrid work environment. Overall, Matt has demonstrated an ability to excel in sales, account management, and project management roles.

Matt Wakefield attended the University of Lincoln from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in European Marketing. Prior to that, they studied at the International School of Toulouse from 1999 to 2005, although a specific degree or field of study was not provided. In addition, they completed the Circus Street Online Digital Training Programme at GSM London in September 2015.
