Bret Awbrey

Bret Awbrey has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries.

Bret started their career at Raytheon as a Program Operations Manager, where they were responsible for the financial performance and delivery schedule of multiple GPS programs. Bret also oversaw operations programs across the full product lifecycle and developed new suppliers.

Bret then transitioned to Altriarch, a multi-strategy asset manager, where they worked in Finance and Operations. Bret was responsible for building financial models and developing go-to-market strategies for the firm.

After Altriarch, Bret joined Nex Cubed as a Consulting Principal, where they empowered entrepreneurs to bring new technologies to market and helped companies scale. Bret worked with companies from early stages to late-stage companies.

Bret also worked at Accumen Inc. as a Client Account Lead and Client Technology Lead. Bret collaborated with senior-level clients to determine account strategy and ensure execution to achieve targets. Bret also led change management consulting activities and developed executive KPI scorecards.

Bret then worked as a Senior Product Manager at Interpreta, a clinical and genomic operations platform. Bret was responsible for integrating and re-interpreting medical, pharmacy, lab, and genomic data to identify opportunities and risks for optimal medical care.

In their current role at both Sway Ventures and Model Medicines, Bret serves as VP of Finance. Sway Ventures is a venture capital firm investing in early to mid-stage technology companies, while Model Medicines focuses on developing revolutionary technology.

Additionally, Bret has held the position of VP Product and Operations at Merlin, an upcoming business operating in stealth mode.

Throughout their career, Bret has gained experience in finance, operations, client management, and strategic planning across various industries.

Bret Awbrey completed their MBA/SM degree in Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management, specializing in the Engineering Systems Division. Bret pursued this degree from 2004 to 2006.

Prior to their MBA, Bret Awbrey obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California. Bret attended the university from 1996 to 2000.

Before attending the University of Southern California, Bret Awbrey completed their high school education at The Peddie School from 1993 to 1996. However, the specific degree or field of study obtained at The Peddie School is unknown.
