Amit Gaggar has extensive experience in the medical field. Amit began their career in 2006 at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where they held the roles of Director of the NIH Postdoctoral T32 in Pulmonary Biology, Director of the Program in Protease and Matrix Biology, and Division of Pulmonary, Allergy & Critical Care Medicine, Endowed Professor of Medicine. In 2020, they joined ResBiotic as Chief Medical Officer, and in 2021 they moved to Alveolus Bio in the same role.
Amit Gaggar obtained their BS and MD in Philosophy and Medicine from the University of Michigan between 1993 and 2000. From 2001 to 2003, they completed an Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by an Internal Medicine Residency Program at the same institution. In 2006, they completed a Clinical Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and obtained Board Certification in Critical Care Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 2005, they obtained Board Certification in Pulmonary Disease from the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 2007, they completed a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Physiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
