Calen Maningas boasts an extensive background in fire services and emergency response, currently serving as Battalion Chief at the Rapid City Fire Department since 2007 and leading the Technical Rescue team. Holding distinguished titles such as Chief Fire Officer with the Center for Public Safety Excellence and Advisory Board Chair for the South Dakota State Fire Marshal, Calen also brings expertise as a Team Lead for the Rapid City/Pennington County Water Rescue Team and as an Agency Instructor with Rescue 3 International. Further contributions include contract instruction at the National Fire Academy and involvement with the Rapid City/Pennington County Incident Management Team. Calen's educational qualifications include a Master’s in Leadership focused on Disaster Preparedness from Grand Canyon University and an Executive Fire Officer designation from the National Fire Academy.
