Richard H. has a diverse work experience spanning several positions and industries. Richard is currently working as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Research Innovations Incorporated since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Rackspace Technology for a significant period of time, starting as a Linux Administrator II from July 2013 to May 2015. Richard H. started their career as a Systems Developer at Energis from May 2000 to February 2001, where they recommended firewall configurations and implemented a server-side solution for a hosted streaming media service. Prior to that, they worked at The University of Hull in various roles, including Systems Administrator (Experimental Officer) from January 1994 to May 2000, where they supported teaching and research on high-end servers and completely redesigned and replaced the department's server infrastructure. Richard also worked as a Research Assistant from July 1992 to January 1994, focusing on a research project and mentoring graduate students.

Richard H. obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Hull, which they completed from 1989 to 1992. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2009, they became a Red Hat Certified Engineer 5 (RHCE). In 2010, they achieved the VMware Certified Professional 4 (VCP) certification as well as the NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA) certification. In 2011, they obtained the NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer, Backup and Recovery (NCIE-B&R) certification. In 2012, they obtained the NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer - SAN certification. Their most recent certification was the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), which they acquired in July 2017 from Red Hat.
