Lavanya Gupta has extensive work experience in the field of public health monitoring, evaluation, and research. Lavanya currently works as a Research Public Health Analyst and Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Lead at RTI International. Prior to this, they held various roles at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, including Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Director, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer for the PMI Measure Malaria project, and Monitoring and Evaluation Associate for the MEASURE Evaluation project. Lavanya also worked as a Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program Evaluator at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and served as a Public Health Co-leader for the UNC Honduran Health Alliance. In addition, Lavanya has experience as a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and as a Graduate Student Epidemiology Program Fellow at the Texas Department of State Health Services. Lavanya started their career as a Component Affairs Coordinator at the American Public Health Association.
Lavanya Gupta completed their French Language Studies at Alliance Française de Paris in 2023. In 2016, they earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Maternal and Child Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Public Health and Middle Eastern Studies from William & Mary in 2012. Lavanya also studied Arabic Language and Literature at the Arab American Language Institute of Morocco in 2010.
