Michael Tuma

Michael Tuma is a highly experienced biologist with expertise in environmental consulting and research. Currently serving as Principal Biologist at FirstCarbon Solutions since April 2020, Michael is involved in biological surveys, CEQA compliance, and mentoring. Simultaneously, Michael works as a Senior Research Associate at Resi, focusing on aerial drone and AI applications for desert tortoise surveys. Previously, role as Senior Biologist at ECORP Consulting, Inc. included biological surveys and desert tortoise monitoring, and experience as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California involved field research on critically endangered tortoise species. Michael's extensive educational background includes a Ph.D. in Integrative and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Southern California and multiple master's degrees in Anthropology and Zoology.
