Simon Cutajar has been working in the technology industry since 2009. Simon began their career as an IT Services Student Placement at the Malta Communications Authority, where they were responsible for contact database maintenance, creating various procedures, and e-mail encryption analysis. In 2012, Simon started working as a Teaching Assistant at the IT University of Copenhagen, and also as a Student Developer at Savivo A/S, where they were responsible for maintenance and bug fixing of the Mingoville MMO and other products using ActionScript 3, as well as writing integrational tests and sound design for separate engines. In 2013, Simon started working as a Web Developer at ICT2Biz, where they were responsible for developing small game prototypes in JavaScript in order to aid Maltese language education for kids. Simon also designed and developed a point-of-sales system in Java, a hotel management system in PHP, a digital books system for schools in PHP, and a cross-platform e-book reader for mobile devices for a prominent local publisher in PHP. In 2014, Simon started working as a Founder / Site Administrator at GameDev.com.mt and as an Applications Developer at Fortytwo. Simon also began working as a Toolkit Developer (part-time) at Three Dragons, where they were responsible for maintenance and development of the Three Dragons toolkit using Microsoft Visual Basic Advanced and Microsoft Excel, as well as attending client meetings with the rest of the team in order to receive feedback and implement any necessary changes. In 2019, Simon began working as a Game Developer at Resolution Games.
Simon Cutajar has a diverse educational background. Simon earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computing from The Open University in 2020. From 2011 to 2013, they studied Media Technology and Games at IT-Universitetet i København, where they earned their MSc IT. Prior to that, they studied Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, Computer Information Systems, and Computer Engineering at the University of Malta, where they earned their B.Sc (Hons) ICT from 2008 to 2011.
