Stephen Barrett

Stephen Barrett has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Stephen currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Resonance Pharma, Inc., where they lead multidisciplinary teams in discovering and developing therapeutics for Sepsis, ARDS, and Cancer. Stephen also manages the intellectual property portfolio and coordinates research, development, and fundraising activities.

Before joining Resonance Pharma, Stephen held various roles at Cayman Chemical, starting as a Medicinal Chemist & IP Liaison in 2007 and progressing to the positions of Director of Drug Discovery Chemistry, Vice President of Chemistry, and ultimately Vice President of Research & Development. In these roles, they oversaw new product planning and development, established strategic partnerships, directed joint R&D programs, and evaluated merger and acquisition targets.

Stephen also served as a Director at Parda Federal Credit Union in 2017.

Stephen'scareer began at Pfizer and Warner Lambert, where they worked as an Organic Chemistry Intern and then as a Principal Scientist. At Pfizer, they mentored colleagues in medicinal chemistry-drug discovery, led projects in various therapeutic areas, and coordinated chemical target selection, synthetic chemistry strategy, and patent liaison.

Stephen Barrett obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Michigan from 1985 to 1989. Stephen then pursued further education, earning a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington between 1990 and 1992. Additionally, Stephen Barrett obtained a certification as a Certified Credit Union Board Member from the Credit Union National Association in May 2019.
