Leong Yu

Leong Yu, Y. has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. They started their career as a Trainee at Action AAA Group (元生集团) in 1995. They then moved on to Resorts World Genting, where they held various roles including HR Management Trainee, HR Executive, Sr HR Executive, HR Assistant Manager, and HR Manager from 1997 to 2008. In 2010, they joined Avillion Hotel Group as an HR Manager for Group HR before returning to Resorts World Genting in 2011. At Resorts World Genting, they worked as an Assistant Vice President and later as a Vice President in the Human Resources department. Their responsibilities included strategic HR management, talent acquisition, manpower benchmarking, labor optimization, process improvement, and compensation & benefits. They also led and managed the transformation of the talent acquisition strategy by incorporating social media and data analytic-driven recruitment practices.

Leong Yu, Y. completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration and Management from the University of Strathclyde from 2012 to 2016. They are currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration and Management from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, starting in 2017 and expected to complete in 2024. Leong Yu, Y. also has additional certifications including HR Statistics, Strategic HR Metrics, HR Analyst, and Digital Strategy, obtained in 2019 from the AIHR | Academy to Innovate HR. They obtained a Degree in Technology Management with a specialization in Manufacturing Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia from 1992 to 1997. Leong Yu, Y. also received Form 6 education from Sekolah Menengah Tuanku Ampuan Durah in 1991. Prior to that, they attended SMK Chi Wen Bahau from 1986 to 1990. They have obtained various certifications, including People Analytics: Transforming HR Strategy with Data Science and Cambridge Strategic Thinking for the CXO, both from Cambridge Judge Business School, and Blockchain and HR, Design Thinking and Employee Experience, and Organizational Network Analyse from AIHR | Academy to Innovate HR. In 2015, Leong Yu, Y. was a finalist in the Conscious Business Leadership Award on LinkedIn.
