Martin Shaw has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies. Martin started their career in 2013 at Imagem Music, where they worked as a Royalties Administrator on a temporary basis. In 2013, they also joined InternetRetailing and took on various roles, starting as a Researcher and eventually becoming the Head of Research in 2015. At RetailX, Martin joined in 2016 as the Head of Research before being promoted to Research Director in 2022.

Martin Shaw obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics and International Relations from The University of Queensland, where they attended from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their degree, they also have certifications in "Statistics and R" from HarvardX, which they obtained in September 2020, and "Data Science and Big Data Analytics: Making Data-Driven Decisions" from MITx on edX, which they obtained in June 2018.
