Bernard Mendez

Bernard Mendez has over eight years of work experience. In 2020, they were a Co-Founder at Retinus, where they built tools to help save lives with AI technology solutions for first responders and emergency personnel. In 2019, they were a Founder at Interco Industries, where they built 3D, VR/AR apps, websites and experiences for the Metaverse and Web3. Bernard was also a Program Manager - Analytics, Innovation and Research at Amazon, and a Corporate Fellowship at Hiring Our Heroes. From 2018 to 2015, they were a Senior Program Manager - Operations and Contracts and a Program Manager - Operations and Contracts at the 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) and the U.S. Army 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) respectively. In 2013, they were a Project Manager - Supply Chain at the US Army, where they led contract negotiations and managed contractual relationships between stakeholders, vendors, and final customer base.

Bernard Mendez obtained a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Psychology and Political Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology between 2008 and 2012, and a Minor in Architecture and Computer Aided Design from the same institution between 2008 and 2011. Bernard also holds certifications in Python Programming from DataCamp (obtained in July 2020), Machine Learning with AWS from Amazon Web Services (obtained in October 2019), Account Auditing Official from Citi (obtained in July 2016), Contracting Officer's Representative from Defense Acquisition University (obtained in April 2015), Operational Contract Support from Army Logistics University (obtained in April 2015), and USASOC-SL Jumpmaster from Army Special Forces (Airborne).
