Matthew Goldstein is currently the Controller at Revel. Prior to that, they were a Senior Accountant at WeWork from September 2018 to November 2019. Before that, they were a Fund Accountant at Guggenheim Partners from June 2016 to August 2018. Matthew started their accounting career at PwC as an Experienced Associate from September 2014 to June 2016.
At PwC, Matthew gained an in-depth understanding of key inputs and discussed any variances with the client as they analyzed the client's prior year acquisition models and memos. Matthew also valued investments by assisting in the leveling process, researching the liquidity of specific investments and providing the client with recommendations on level changes. Matthew performed all substantive testing for a mutual fund engagement while managing all client communications and open items, enhancing the testing performed prior year, finishing the engagement a week earlier than last year. In addition, they oversaw all delivery center coordination for a large engagement, reviewing and editing all instructions and making sure the deliverables were received on time and correctly to ensure team efficiency. When a senior left the team, Matthew took on more responsibility on a complex engagement and worked directly with managers to not only finish the testing areas assigned but also with better testing than the prior year. Lastly, they led the confirmation process for a complex mutual fund client by communicating with diverse third parties daily, ensuring confirms were received ahead of the sign off date.
These experiences have shaped Matthew into the Controller they are today at Revel.
