Robert Sim

Robert Sim has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Robert is currently working at RevelSec as a Managed Services Engineer since April 2021. Previously, they worked at Sparkhound as a Consultant from July 2017 to March 2020.

Robert has also worked at Revel Technology as a Managed Services On Site Support Engineer for a brief period in May and June 2017. Prior to that, they held the position of Hardware Integrator/Project Engineer at ABB Enterprise Software from June 2014 to January 2017. In this role, they were responsible for setting up and installing SCADA/EMS projects worldwide, configuring network security, and maintaining Windows Active Directory and Group Policy.

Before their time at ABB Enterprise Software, Robert worked as a Senior Deskside Support Technician at the same company from August 2011 to June 2014. Robert also gained experience as a Computer Engineer at Information Advisory Group from November 2008 to July 2011 and as an IT Technician at Northland Investment Corporation from May 2007 to September 2008.

Robert's early professional experience includes roles as a Help Desk Coordinator at EDS/Boston Scientific, a Network Support at New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, and a Petroleum Specialist in the Connecticut Army National Guard from 1997 to 2005. Robert also served as a Petroleum Specialist in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom from February 2003 to May 2004.

Robert Sim obtained a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Connecticut School of Business, which they attended from 1997 to 2002. In addition to their degree, Robert also earned several certifications throughout their career. In 2005, they obtained the CompTIA A+ Core Hardware certification from CompTIA. In 2008, they received the CompTIA Network+ certification, also from CompTIA. Later, in 2014, Robert obtained the ITIL Foundation certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Robert'smost recent certification is the Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, which they obtained from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2020.
