Lauren Thacker

Lauren Thacker has extensive experience in communications and advancement roles in various educational institutions and organizations. Lauren is currently serving as the Senior Associate Director of Strategic Communications at the Rhode Island School of Design since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Advancement Communications at Penn Arts & Sciences, University of Pennsylvania from 2017 to 2022. Lauren also has experience as an Adjunct Faculty at Moore College of Art & Design from 2016 to 2017. From 2015 to 2016, they served as the Director of Programming and Marketing at the Writing Center of Northeastern University. Lauren has also worked as a Development Consultant at the Asian University for Women Support Foundation from 2013 to 2015, and as a Communications Officer/Web Producer at Lifespan from 2007 to 2010. Lauren started their career as an Intern at the Jamestown Historical Society in 2006.

Lauren Thacker completed their high school education at East Providence High School from 1999 to 2003. Lauren then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Art History at the College of the Holy Cross from 2003 to 2007. Finally, they attended Northeastern University from 2010 to 2016 and obtained a PhD in English Language and Literature.
