Richard Travis has over three decades of work experience in the telecommunications industry. Richard started their career at Nortel Networks in 1990, where they worked as a Customer Engineer, supporting Local Exchange Carriers in the Northeastern US. Richard also served as an SL-100 Hardware Product Manager and an Installation Documentation Engineer during their time at Nortel Networks.
In 2000, Richard joined Avaya as a CS 2100 Product Manager. Richard directed a team of 30 staff members and 20 matrix resources, defining the evolution strategy for TDM-centric SL-100 to enterprise hybrid softswitch CS 2100. Richard also played a key role in steering solutions architecture across Nortel's optical, data, and voice platforms, ensuring client investments were protected.
From 2011 to 2013, Richard served as the CS 2100 Senior Product Manager at Avaya. During this time, they spearheaded the transition program to retire the active CS 2100 product and focus on Avaya's core products. Richard managed customer expectations, promoted the evolution roadmap, and facilitated the transfer of resources and technology responsibility to GENBAND.
Since 2013, Richard has been working at Ribbon Communications as the Enterprise and Federal Senior Product Manager. In this role, they lead the product roadmap and structure of Ribbon Communication's portfolio in the Enterprise and Federal call control segment. Richard focuses on increasing market share through marketing programs and addressing any gaps in the product development budget.
Richard Travis attended Northwest Kansas Technical College from 1985 to 1987, where they obtained an Associates degree in Communications.
