Tim Barnes

Tim Barnes has extensive work experience in the field of data science and services. Tim currently works at Ribbon Communications as a Data Science professional since 2019. Prior to that, they were employed at Anova Data, starting in 2015, where they worked in services. Tim also worked at Zettics from 2014 to 2015, again in services. Tim served as the Services Director at Velocent Systems from 2012 to 2014. Before that, Tim worked at Nokia Siemens Networks from 2008 to 2012, initially as a Managing Consultant and later as a Product Manager. Tim also has experience as a Managing Consultant at Apertio from 2003 to 2008, where they eventually led the Technical Consultants and Support organization. Tim started their career at IPL, Information Processing Limited in 1997 as a Software Engineer, eventually becoming a Team Leader. Tim previously worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bristol from 1994 to 1997, focusing on research related to breaking waves. Their career began at Polyflow S.A. in 1991, where they worked as a Numerical Analyst and implemented a new numerical technique for particle tracking in time-dependent flows.

Tim Barnes completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Bristol, graduating in 1990 with a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics. Tim went on to pursue their Ph.D. at the same university, specializing in Applied Mathematics. Tim completed their doctorate in 1994.
