Tirthankar Pal (TP)

Tirthankar Pal (TP) has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Tirthankar started their career at Alcatel-Lucent (now part of Nokia) as a Lead Engineer, where they worked on customizing prepaid call rating/charging applications for a Telecom Service Provider in India. Tirthankar then spent a couple of years integrating the application into the same provider's network, gaining valuable customer-site experience.

After that, TP joined Digitate, where they worked as a Product Manager in the Global Consulting Practice (GCP) unit. However, their true passion was to become a Product Manager, which led him to find a role at Digitate's product unit within TCS.

TP later joined Ribbon Communications as a Senior Product Manager, responsible for managing multiple products at different stages of the life cycle. One notable product they managed was NetScore, which monitored SIP trunk groups' performance and analyzed Call Detail Records (CDRs) to optimize network traffic and improve user experience.

Currently, TP is a Principal Product Manager at Ribbon Communications, overseeing the growth and development of product/service lines with annual revenue exceeding USD 10 million. Tirthankar manages products such as Secure Telephone Identity (STI), a call authentication solution to mitigate Caller ID spoofing, and Centralized Policy and Routing (PSX), an element that stores routing intelligence in an IP communications network.

Tirthankar Pal (TP) completed their education in a chronological order, starting with a Higher Secondary degree in Science from Kendriya Vidyalaya, where they studied from 1991 to 2003. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) in Berhampur, from 2004 to 2008. Later, they enrolled in XLRI Jamshedpur from 2014 to 2015, where they obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in General Management (PGDM) with a focus on Business Administration and Management.

In addition to their formal education, TP has also acquired several certifications. Tirthankar obtained the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform 1.4 certification from Sun Microsystems in February 2007. In September 2016, they received the Pragmatic Marketing Certified - Level II (PMC-II) certification from Pragmatic Marketing. Their most recent certification is "Essential Container Concepts" from Linux Academy, which they obtained in July 2020.
