Katie Copty, LPC, currently serves as a therapist at Richmond Creative Counseling, LLC, since October 2019. Prior to this role, Katie Copty was the Director of Counseling and Advocacy at Safe Harbor Shelter from August 2013 to October 2019, overseeing the counseling program while providing clinical supervision to a team of clinicians and interns. Katie Copty has extensive experience in trauma-informed therapy, having worked as a Sexual and Domestic Violence Counselor, where individual therapy and therapeutic groups were facilitated for survivors of various forms of violence. Previous roles include advocacy and support for at-risk youth as a Student Advocate at Care Now and a Volunteer Victim Advocate at YWCA South Hampton Roads, along with academic responsibilities as a Graduate Research Assistant at Old Dominion University. Katie Copty holds a Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University, completed in 2013.
