Darren Maki has a diverse work experience in the tech industry. Darren co-founded RideCo in 2013, where they served as a Software Engineer and Co-Founder. Prior to that, in 2012, they were also a Co-Founder, Engineer, and Architect in a private partnership. From 2008 to 2012, Darren worked at BlackBerry, where they held various software development roles, including Software Developer for BB10 Phone Applications, Java Diagnostics Tools, and Java Handheld Sustainment. Darren started their career at BlackBerry as a Software Tools Developer Intern in 2006.
Darren Maki completed their education with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Computer Software Engineering from Lakehead University. Darren attended Lakehead University from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they studied at the RCC Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2005 and obtained a degree as a Technologist in Computer Network Engineering.
In addition to their formal education, Darren Maki has also acquired several certifications. In February 2012, they obtained certifications in Intensive C++ from DevelopMentor and Programming with Qt and Cascades from KDAB. Darren also obtained a certification in Introduction to the Capability Maturity Model Integration V1.1 from Carnegie Mellon University in July 2006.
