Claudio Thoma

Claudio Thoma has extensive work experience in the field of biology and therapeutic research. Claudio is currently serving as the Director of Biology at Ridgeline Discovery since 2023. Prior to this role, they held the position of Associate Director of Chemical Biology & Therapeutics at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) from 2014 to 2023. At NIBR, they also worked as a Senior Principal Scientist, Laboratory Head of Chemical Biology & Therapeutics, and Laboratory Head of Oncology. Claudio Thoma has also worked as a Senior Scientist at ETH Zurich from 2012 to 2014 and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Medical School from 2010 to 2011. Claudio began their career as a Postdoctoral Scientist at ETH Zürich in 2009.

Claudio Thoma completed their education at different institutions. Claudio began their education at Alte Kantonsschule Aarau from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained their Eidgenoessische Matura degree with a focus on Mathematics. Claudio then pursued a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at ETH Zürich from 2000 to 2004, earning a Dipl. Natw. ETH. Continuing their studies at ETH Zürich, Claudio completed a Doctor of Sciences degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology/Cancer research from 2005 to 2008.
