Peter Vermeiren

Peter Vermeiren is a scientific associate at RIFCON GmbH, specializing in effect modelling and statistics since July 2023. Prior experience includes serving as an associate professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway, where research focused on wildlife interactions with environmental stressors, particularly pollution. A substantial background in ecotoxicological modelling was developed during a postdoc position at Radboud University Nijmegen, along with international experience as a JSPS International Postdoctoral Fellow at Kochi University and as a postdoctoral researcher at Eawag. Peter's early career included freelance work as an ecologist and culminated with a PhD in Tropical Ecology from James Cook University. Academic credentials also feature a postgraduate diploma in Research Methods and a bachelor's degree in Biology from Ghent University.
