Jason Copas has extensive work experience in the field of network architecture and security engineering. Jason currently works as a Security Engineer at Right! Systems, Inc. since January 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Network Architect at the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife from April 2018 to January 2022.
Before their role at the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife, Jason worked at General Dynamics Information Technology as a Senior Network Engineer from March 2011 to March 2018. In this role, they managed multiple network environments and was responsible for switching, routing, encryption, troubleshooting, IAVA compliance, and documentation.
Jason's career started at L-3 where they served as a TACLAN Administrator from February 2006 to August 2010. Jason then transitioned to the Army Special Forces (Airborne) where they worked as a TACLAN Section Sergeant from December 2000 to February 2006.
Jason Copas obtained a High School Diploma from Sullivan Central High School in 1998. Jason later pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Network Operations and Security from Western Governors University, which they completed between 2017 and 2019. Additionally, Jason has obtained various certifications over the years, including IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) from AXELOS Global Best Practice in August 2019, CompTIA Cloud Essentials in April 2019, Project+ from CompTIA in January 2018, Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator, and Palo Alto Networks System Engineer Professional - Strata, all from Palo Alto Networks in June 2022, Juniper Networks Certified Associate - Automation and DevOps (JNCIA-DevOps) from Juniper Networks in May 2021, Juniper Networks Certified Associate - Junos (JNCIA-Junos) from Juniper Networks in March 2019, CCDA (Cisco Certified Design Associate) in July 2018, CCNA Routing and Switching in December 2014, CCNA Security in January 2014, CCNP Routing and Switching in January 2017, Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) in January 2020, A+ from CompTIA in September 2017, and Security+ from CompTIA in February 2011.
