Ben Ede

Ben Ede has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ben currently holds the position of Head of Engineering at Rightfoot since June 2023. Previously, Ben worked at 7bridges where they held multiple roles, including Principal Engineer from January 2017 to June 2022 and Chief Technology Officer from June 2022 to June 2023. During their time at 7bridges, Ben achieved several accomplishments such as developing an onboarding process for multiple departments, leading to improved employee retention and experience, instilling the ethos of TDD and continuous deployment, and leading the ISO 27001 accreditation process.

Before their tenure at 7bridges, Ben worked at Savvy.is as a Technology Advisor from April 2017 to August 2018 and later as Head of Engineering from June 2015 to April 2017. At Savvy.is, they successfully migrated the team to feature-based continuous release processes and led the transition to a React/Redux based platform. Ben also built a web-based live video education platform capable of handling thousands of concurrent sessions.

Prior to Savvy.is, Ben worked at Think Digital - Consultancy as an Associate - Chief Technology Officer from March 2010 to June 2015. During this time, they played a key role in enabling income generation of over $1.5 million through the development of a scalable charity platform.

Ben also has experience as the director of their own consulting company, Ben Ede Consulting Ltd, from July 2009 to June 2015. Ben provided consulting, development, and mobile app development services, including the development of the Tool for Rapid Assessment of City Energy (TRACE) for the World Bank.

Additionally, Ben co-founded Team Liza, a fintech startup, where they served as the Chief Technology Officer from January 2013 to January 2015. Through the use of the Lean startup methodology, they successfully created multiple iterations of the minimum viable product without requiring external funding.

Before their entrepreneurial ventures, Ben worked at Digerati Studio Ltd as a Senior Developer from April 2008 to July 2009. Ben focused on implementing modern development and deployment strategies and designed a cost-effective redundant server solution.

Ben's earlier experience includes the roles of Head of Innovation at Destiny from August 2004 to April 2008, Systems Analyst/Developer at New Mind from August 2003 to August 2004, and Technical Director at Sky Rock from February 1999 to July 2002.

Overall, Ben Ede has demonstrated a range of technical expertise and leadership skills in various organizations and projects throughout their career.

Ben Ede attended the University of the West of England from 1996 to 2000, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
