Erik van Ginkel has a diverse work experience in the arts and culture sector. Erik'smost recent role was as the managing director at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, where they have been working since September 2011. Prior to that, they served as the managing director at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen Rotterdam from January 2006 to August 2011. Erik also held the position of acting director/head of projects at the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds from December 2001 to December 2005. Before that, they worked as the director of human resources at VBAT from August 2000 to December 2001. Finally, they started their career as an executive secretary at the Mondriaan Fonds, where they worked from January 1994 to August 2000.
Erik van Ginkel attended Rock Bridge Sr. High School from 1983 to 1984. Erik then pursued higher education at the University of Amsterdam from 1985 to 1991, where they did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study.
