Rene I Luna, MD, FACOG-OBGYN has an extensive work experience. Rene I is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Rene I Luna, MD, PA, a position they have held since August 2015. Rene I is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley since the same year.

In 2016, Dr. Luna became a National Proctor at Intuitive, a role they continue to hold. Rene I also served as the OBGYN Clinic Medical Director at Rio Grande Regional Hospital starting in August 2015, and is currently the DHR Health Women's Hospital Institute for Robotic Surgery Medical Director at DHR Health since June 2020.

Dr. Rene I Luna, MD, FACOG-OBGYN obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from The University of Texas-Pan American in 2002. Rene I later pursued their medical education and received a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in OBGYN from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2013.

In terms of additional certifications, Dr. Luna is Board Certified as an Obstetrician Gynecologist by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG), a certification they achieved in January 2018. Rene I also hold the Diplomate title from the same institution. Additionally, they are a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a distinction they obtained in January 2018. Recently, Dr. Luna became certified in Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery (MIGS) from an undisclosed institution in June 2021.
