Andrej Babnik

Andrej Babnik is a seasoned professional in project management and engineering, currently serving as Study Manager for the Gove Closure Projects at Rio Tinto since July 2022. With over a decade of experience at Rio Tinto, Andrej has held various roles including Study Lead, Engineering Manager & Support, and Area Manager, leading significant projects in the commodity sector and leveraging green technology. Prior to joining Rio Tinto, Andrej worked at Rio Tinto Aluminium and Anglesey Aluminium Metal Limited in roles ranging from Project Manager to Specialist Project Engineer, contributing to a diverse portfolio of mining and infrastructure projects across different regions. Andrej holds a Bachelor (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, a Diploma in Project Management from the Australian Institute of Management, and is a Certified Practising Project Director through the Australian Institute of Project Management.
