John Ballantyne

John is responsible for maximizing the performance and execution of RioCan’s strategy. As COO, he ensures that RioCan’s portfolio, comprised of 200+ income-producing, well-located properties, is high-performing and drives reliable income to create lasting value for our stakeholders. He oversees Property Operations, Leasing, Asset Management, ESG, and RioCan’s residential portfolio, RioCan Living™.

As one of RioCan’s first and longest-standing employees, with experience leading multiple divisions and teams, John strengthens RioCan’s operational excellence, drives sustainable growth and long-term unitholder value. John has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Toronto.
