Charles Trantina

Charles Trantina has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry. Charles began their career in 1989 as a Radio Repair Chief for the United States Marine Corps. In 2000, they joined QuadraMed as a Senior Network Engineer, where they were responsible for overseeing the corporate Local Area and Wide Area Networks, managing perimeter security, and upgrading the Exchange infrastructure from Exchange 5. In 2005, they joined SaveMart SuperMarkets as a Security Engineer, where they monitored 35 remotely deployed firewalls, and the corporate firewall, oversaw TrendMicro OfficeScan deployment for Point of Sale back end systems, and administered TripWire Enterprise. In 2006, they joined Esurance as a Network Architect, where they seamlessly stepped into the role of Network Infrastructure Manager, maintained the corporate network with only himself and a handful of offshore resources, developed a Capacity Management model for Data Canter facilities, and segmented and moved the Ecommerce infrastructure to a new space within the existing DC location with no unplanned down time. Charles then moved into the role of Senior Manager Network Engineering, where they planned and facilitated a company-wide migration to SIP, saving the company over 1.4 million per year, and coordinated Cisco Unified Call Manager and Contact Center Upgrade. Charles then moved into the role of Senior Manager Special Project, where they facilitated the virtualization of 90% of the E-commerce stack, introduced FlexPod architecture, and supervised 8 individuals that spearheaded the virtualization effort. Charles then moved back into the role of Senior Manager Network Engineering, where they led the Infrastructure Services Group with 17 direct reports, oversaw a company-wide rollout of Citrix, and built a network team from 2 engineers to 7 engineers. In 2018, they joined Ascend Technologies as a DataCenter Architect. Finally, in 2022, they joined Ripcord as a Senior Network Engineer.

Charles Trantina attended Providence High School from 1981 to 1985 and the University of St. Francis from 1986 to 1988.
