Richard (Yong-Ki) Kim has a diverse work experience in the field of plant pathology and research.

Richard (Yong-Ki) is currently the Director of R&D and Pathology at RipeLocker, LLC, where they are involved in extending the post-harvest life of perishables using patented low-atmosphere containers.

Before joining RipeLocker, Richard worked at Pace International, LLC as the Director of Plant Pathology for almost a decade.

Prior to that, they worked as a Research Plant Pathologist at Washington State University for seven years, focusing on plant pathology research.

Their career started at Kansas State University, where they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant, conducting research on wheat diseases and their genetics, cytogenetics, and epidemiology.

Richard (Yong-Ki) Kim pursued their education in the field of Plant Pathology/Phytopathology. From 1998 to 2003, they attended Kansas State University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.
