Miguel Portilla is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in game development and cryptocurrency technology. As a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Ripple since 2014, Miguel has contributed to the core development of rippled, the reference implementation of the Ripple Transaction Protocol and the XRP cryptocurrency, focusing on history sharding for the distributed ledger. Prior to Ripple, Miguel co-founded and served as Vice President at Skyjoy Interactive, LLC, where accomplishments included leading the design of the mobile game Super Kid Cannon and building a development team of 19 employees. Miguel also co-founded PoBros Inc., where 13 high-ranked casual games were developed and published. Earlier roles include senior software engineering positions at MTV Networks and Activision, where Miguel developed broadcast graphics applications and led engineering efforts for notable video games. Miguel holds a BS in Architecture and Computer Science from Florida International University and an AA in Architecture from Miami Dade College.
