Grant Weller

Technical Support Engineer at RISA Technologies

Grant Weller has extensive work experience in the field of structural engineering and design support. Grant worked at VAA, LLC from January 2016 to June 2022, where they provided structural engineering and design support for various industrial projects. Their responsibilities included preparing structural calculations, producing structural drawings, coordinating with equipment layouts, and reviewing structural shop drawings. Prior to that, they worked at Amec Foster Wheeler as an Associate Structural Engineer from July 2011 to November 2015, where they provided similar support for industrial projects in the food and beverage, oil refinery, and electric power industries. Grant also worked at Litecky Engineering, Inc. from January 2011 to June 2011 as an Engineer in Training, providing structural engineering and drafting support for wood frame structures. Before that, they worked at Stork Twin City Testing as an Engineering Technician from September 2010 to December 2010, where they collected and identified soil samples and classified them using the Unified Soil Classification System. Grant also noted depth of soil transitions and water table elevation. In their most recent role, Grant worked at RISA Tech, Inc. as a Technical Support Engineer from January 2023 onwards, providing technical support. Grant also had brief experiences at Uni-Systems Engineering and Modular Concepts Inc., where they provided design and assembly support, and manufacturing support respectively.

Grant Weller began their education in 2006 at Normandale Community College, where they pursued a Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MNTC). Grant completed this program in 2007. Following this, Weller attended the University of Minnesota from 2008 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

In terms of additional certifications, Weller obtained their Engineer in Training certification from NCEES and the MN Board of AELSLAGID in June 2010. Grant furthered their professional development by obtaining their Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the same institutions in May 2019.
