Iain Hecker

Iain Hecker is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in software development and engineering leadership. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Rise Technologies since June 2023, Iain previously held a similar position at Teachable from August 2016 to August 2022, where significant contributions included building a one-page checkout system, migrating infrastructure to AWS, and developing a multi-tenant OAuth provider. Before Teachable, Iain was the VP of Engineering at Karma Mobility, Inc., where innovation included patented user monitoring technology and designing a microservices architecture. Additional roles have included tech lead at Finalist IT Group, organizer of Ruby User Group Meetings in Rotterdam, contributor to the Rails I18n project, and technical consultant for Indivirtual. Iain holds a BICT degree in Information Technology from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
